Hewlett Packard Latex L25500 Firmware Update


A New firmware revision now available will provide improved performance and reliability for HP Designjet L25500 users. HP recommends that all users download the firmware and upgrade their printer for best performance, and that this version be used for any remaining installations.
Two key improvements are included in this firmware release: an improvement in the control of the print head cooling process to reduce the print head rejections and a change in the preventative friction algorithm which triggers an alert when users need to perform carriage rail maintenance to keep the machine up and running properly. Additional enhancements include improved driver temperature controls, an improved maintenance cartridge warning system, and the addition of OMAS calibration to the user menu.

The firmware (5.0.0.8) is available for download at www.hp.com/go/l25500fw. Once the printer is properly upgraded, it will not be possible to downgrade to previous versions.

Firmware Update: HP Designjet z3200

Hello z3200 owners! It's that time again, HP has released a new firmware for your HP z3200 Designjet! Here are some of the key fixes included in this firmware:

• The name of the base media used to create a custom paper preset is now shown in the front panel of the printer when checking the custom paper preset details.
• Papers from the additional papers category will no longer be deleted after the firmware has been updated.
• The number of times that the error 81:01 can occur has been reduced.
• The message that explains to the customers how to deal with an out of ink cartridge while in the middle of a job has been localized to all languages.
• When the printer was printing a job on a sheet that had uneven edges, when the next print was on a roll of paper, the job was slow as the carriage frequently stopped. This issue has been solved.
• The option to ‘Reprint last job’ only worked for the internal prints, so it has been removed.
• A localization problem in Japanese that made it impossible to distinguish between different instant dry paper names has been corrected.
• Dry time settings in the front panel are now taken into account.
• Personal information has been removed from the accounting e-mail.

Folks, it looks like HP has begun to release Windows 7 HP DesignJet drivers on schedule for the following plotters this month: the HP DesignJet 70, 90, 110Plus, and the 130. Also supported as of November 2009 are the DesignJet 500 series, 800 series, 815, and 820.
